So in late January my first container of the year arrived. There were 66 bikes on there, some of the best bikes i’ve ever brought back. Now this CRE is without doubt one of my all time favourites – not just of this container but of all of the bikes i’ve ever imported (probably 1000 or thereabouts in total).
When i was offered it, i really wasn’t sure. I’d heard of them but never seen one and I wasn’t sure what the UK market for this bike would be like – sometimes the bikes do better in America than here.. Anyway I put it up on my instagram & within 30 mins i had a deposit on it.. But just 2 weeks before it was due to arrive the guy asked to cancel the order.
I don’t know what it is about the bike that I love I mean i love CR250’s & there is something about the mid 90’s steel frame CR250’s that i really like. maybe it’s the fact that this wasn’t made by Honda but by their Italian importer who just wanted a full on CR250 Enduro weapon which Honda wasn’t making so they took it upon themselves to buy all the bits and make these 260cc CRE’s CR Enduro.
anyway – i don’t know but it’s lovely really lovely!
engine runs great & goes through all the gears was chucking it down when i checked it over so didn’t ride it but i will do !!
this is exactly as it arrived from California – I know a lot of you prefer it that you can see 1st hand the overall condition. I literally keep them as they are – unwashed just as they are
everything is in good condition will need to be checked over & given a good service but a great starting base.
couple of the CRE bits seem to have been removed – lighting coil & rear frame loop are the main ones – should be possible to put back to standard relatively easily.
you’ll not see another one of these very often & am sure it would make a brilliant trail / enduro bike.
I think you’d be really impressed with the bike. any inspection welcome I know it looks better in the flesh than on the pics & it runs so well.
comes with a Nova certificate and american title so to register you will just need to MOT it.
